Phonics
1. Quickwrite!
Practise writing the phase 2 sounds.
Parents: Please read the sounds to your child. They can then write them on a piece of paper.
Parents: Your child should have this sound mat in the home learning pack which was sent out before Christmas.
2. Words to read:
Was your child able to blend the words? Encourage your child to use their ‘phoneme fingers’ to help them when reading words.
3. Words to write:
mud hat peg cog
Ask an adult to read out the words. Use your phoneme frames in your home learning pack. Remember to write one phoneme in each box.
Literacy Activity
Tell me something about your Christmas holiday.
You could draw a picture and label it with a simple sentence or word.
Remember to use your phoneme fingers when segmenting!
Maths Activity
Sammy squirrel likes to hide nuts for the winter. He has hidden 2 nuts in one hole and 3 nuts in another hole. How many nuts has he hidden altogether? Draw a picture or a number story to show your answer.
