This week in Year 1, we explored the theme “Me and My Community”. The children learned what it means to be part of a community.
We talked about the different communities we’re part of, like our families, school, and neighbourhood, and shared ideas on how to contribute positively to each.
One highlight was our friendship web activity! We passed around a ball of string, and each child shared why they value their friends, such as, “You’re a good friend because you helped me with my maths.”
By the end, we had created a “web” of connections, visually showing how we’re all linked together.
